January we finished up 1st semester. Painting 1 had to paint a pet portrait, most worked from photos of their own animals. Fundamentals started November out with contour line drawings and human proportion Then they used their skills to create paper cut outs of people in action. The end of the month we started painting. First was a color wheel. They learned how to mix colors and blend tints into hues and hues into shades. After the color wheel they created a radial design painting using all of their new skills.

Tiger Talents week was June 13 - 17. Students chose 2 classes to go to each day. The True North County-wide Art show took place in the end of April. GHS had a great showing, approximately 300 pieces of art. They took home 19 ribbons. Outstanding Seniors are the white ribbons and receiving them: Jenn Coles, Krinstina Ledezma, Jacky Dekorne, Joslyn Breuker, Tiffany VanDyke, Jake Newton and Mario Ochoa. On the evening of March 31 band, choir, theatre and art students were all involved in the presentation of the Collage Concert. Three art students painted on stage while the band, choir and theatre students performed. These 3 paintings were then auctioned off as a fund raiser for the art department. Mr. Schneider has joined our class. He is a student teacher from Kendall College and will be with us for the rest of the year. Fundamentals has been working on their drawing skills.
